IIT Kharagpur Invites Applications from Students for 12-week Free Online Course on Internet of Things – DATAQUEST

IIT Kharagpur has offered a 12-week free online course on Internet of Things on the NPTEL platform that can be taken up by students
IIT Kharagpur is currently accepting enrolments for a free online course on Introduction to Internet of Things that can be taken up by students and professionals. The course provides as understanding of Internet of Things to participants as the government, academia, and industry are involved in different aspects of research, implementation, and business with IoT. It is important to learn the underlying fundamentals of this technology as IoT-based applications such as innovative shopping system, infrastructure management in both urban and rural areas, remote health monitoring and emergency notification systems, and transportation systems, are gradually relying on IoT based systems, says the NPTEL website where this course is being offered for free.
The course is being conducted by Dr. Sudip Misra who is a professor in the Department of Computer Science and Engineering at the Indian Institute of Technology Kharagpur. Prior to this he was associated with Cornell University (USA), Yale University (USA), Nortel Networks (Canada) and the Government of Ontario (Canada). He received his PhD degree in Computer Science from Carleton University, in Ottawa, Canada. The course is free to enrol and learn from; however, those who wish to receive certificates will have to pay Rs 1000, and take an examination on 23 April 2022.

Participants need to have a basic knowledge of programming.
The course will be conducted from 24 January to 15 April 2022, and carries three credit points. Participants will receive an e-certificate with IIT Kharagpur and NPTEL logos only if they obtain an average assignment score of 10 out of 25, and an average exam score of 30 out of 75.
