They hog the limelight when they accomplish a historic feat during the game. Every cricketer goes through such sweet times in a cricketing career. When a batsman slams a century or in case if a bowler takes a fifer, they drew praises from across quarters.
On the contrary, this is not the same case with other players. Some cricketers have sullied their reputation by doing something against the laws of the game. We have seen cricketers secretly engaging in infamous spot-fixing behind the scenes.
On the other side of the coin, some cricketers were engaged in scandals that shook the cricket fraternity. Recently, Pakistan national cricket team’s leg-spinner Yasir Shah made the headlines for the wrong reason.
He made the headlines of late after he was accused of aiding in the rape of a 14-year-old minor girl. As a result, the cricketer has been booked in a case lodged at Islamabad’s Shalimar Police Station.
The girl went to the police station and filed an FIR. In the first information report (FIR) that has been registered, the girl mentioned that Yasir Shah’s friend Farhan allegedly raped her at gunpoint and after which, he filmed the act, as reported by Geo.tv.
The girl further added that Pakistan cricketer Yasir Shah warned her of acute consequences if she went to the higher officials or authorities to explain the incident.
“Yasir Shah said that he was a very influential person and that he knew a high-ranking official. Yasir Shah and Farhan make videos and rape underage girls,” she has stated in the FIR, as reported by Geo.tv.
Since the incident came to light, the Pakistan Cricket Board (PCB) responded by saying: “The PCB is presently gathering information at its end and will only offer a comment when in possession of complete facts.”
Meanwhile, the Pakistan Cricket Board (PCB) did not comment on the matter. The board further claimed that they will initiate a probe and take further action accordingly.
PCB said: “We have noted that some allegations have been levelled against one of our Centrally Contracted players. The PCB is presently gathering information and will only offer a comment when in possession of the complete facts”
The Pakistan Cricket Board (PCB), meanwhile, refused to comment on the matter claiming that they will look into the matter thoroughly. PCB regarding the allegation against Yasir Shah
