IIT Kharagpur is offering a free online course on Blockchain and its applications for interested participants on the NPETL platform this time
IIT Kharagpur has invited applications from students for a 12-week free online course called Blockchain and its applications on the NPTEL platform. The course will cover the basic design principles of Blockchain technology and its applications over different sectors. Furthermore, tutorials on setting up Blockchain applications using one of the well-adopted permissionless blockchain platforms Ethereum, and one permissioned blockchain platform Hyperledger, will also be given.
The course will be conducted by Dr. Sandip Chakraborty who is working as an associate professor in the Department of Computer Science and Engineering, and professor Shamik Sural who is a full time professor in the Department of Computer Science and Engineering at the Indian Institute of Technology Kharagpur. In order to take the course participants will need to have basic knowledge in the following subjects:

The course has been designed keeping in mind the fact that the technology has generated massive interest among governments, enterprises, and academics, because of its capability of providing a transparent, secured, tamper-proof solution for interconnecting different stakeholders in a trustless setup. The course also carries three credit points. Hence it would be most beneficial for the following participants to take the course:
The course will be conducted from 24 January to 15 April 2022, and interested participants will have to enrol before 31 January 2022. Those who wish to obtain e-certificates with logos of IIT Kharagpur and NPTEL will have to pay Rs 1000 and take an examination on 23 April. Those who wish to enrol are advised to go through the official website for further information.
