The Friends of the Public Garden is hosting free ice skating on Boston Common’s Frog Pond on Sunday, Feb. 20, a great activity for President’s Day weekend.
“The Friends of the Public Garden’s free ‘Skating with FRIENDS’ event returns to the Boston Common’s Frog Pond after not taking place last year due to the pandemic. The event, in partnership with the Skating Club of Boston, will feature free skating sessions that include free gear rentals (while supplies last),” organizers wrote in a press release.
Complimentary cookies and hot chocolate will also be available at the event.
Skating assistants will be onsite to help out and Frog Pond Freddie, the park’s mascot, will make an appearance to say hello to visitors.
Space is limited to 125 skaters per 90-minute session. Those interested in attending this event at America’s first public park can get free tickets up to 30 minutes before each session.
Skating will take place on Sunday, Feb. 20, with sessions beginning at 10 a.m., 12 p.m., 2 p.m., 4 p.m. and 6 p.m. Free skate will close after the last session.
