Edinburgh, 8 March 2022. – Space4Impact, EPFL’s Space Center eSpace, E2MC Ventures, and Space Innovation joined forces to launch an online course on the New Space Economy, hosted on edX, Space4Impact announced. The program is already available as a free EPFLx course.
There are over 30 video lectures accessible for those who want to learn. All these were made by space experts working for startups, academia, the private sector, and public institutions in Switzerland. Course participants can learn from lecturers from EPFL, University of Zurich, ESA BIC Switzerland, Clearspace, Astrocast, ITU and former astronaut Claude Nicollier among others.
As the space industry is growing fast boosted by commercialization and space becoming more accessible, a full range of innovative applications emerge. The New Space Economy online course offers an overview of this new space sector. Entrepreneurs, students and those changing careers will all benefit by learning about current and future space infrastructures and technology. These include telecommunication, geolocation, broadcasting, Earth Observation, and in-space manufacturing as well.
The course explains how these space applications enable new products and services on our planet. The program also focuses on space sustainability and Earth sustainability with the help of space.
