BAY COUNTY — With summer at its peak, there are still ways to make these hot days a little cooler with live music taking place throughout Bay County.
If you’re a concert-goer looking forward to relaxing on the grass while enjoying tunes from musical artists, you’re in luck. Here’s a look at upcoming concerts, shows and performances taking place during the next few weeks.
Summer entertainment: Entertainer Andy Gross coming to Panama City Beach for summer series. Here are the details.
July art exhibits: Bay County Public Library featuring 2 art exhibits through July. Here’s what’s on display.
Join the city of Lynn Haven during the Music by the Bay Concert for a night of dancing, food and fun by North Bay. Bring a blanket, chair, or the boat to enjoy live music from local band Fox Play. Based in Panama City, the band plays a variety of music, including country, pop, rock and blues.
The concert kicks off July 29 at 5:30 p.m. at Leslie Porter Park, 200 Michigan Ave. in Lynn Haven, and is free to the public. Enjoy the convenience of food trucks from Gelato Love and That’s What Cheese Said.
Meredith Sanders, marketing coordinator for the city of Lynn Haven, said the concert is the city’s gift to end the summer with a free concert by the bay.
“While (the city of Lynn Haven) typically hosts a spring and fall concert series, this year we’re making the Music by the Bay event as a way to end out the summer for our residents,” Sanders said.
There’s still time to catch a show at Aaron Bessant Park as the annual summer concert series approaches its final weeks.
Remaining on the lineup are Bonn E Maiy for a July 26 performance with a mix of country, rock, Americana and pop; Ronnie Wolf and the Pack bringing country tunes on Aug. 2; and The Powell Brothers American country duo wrapping up the series on Aug. 9.
Free to the public, the concerts take place from 7-9 p.m., creating a family-friendly atmosphere where guests can enjoy the convenience of food trucks, child-friendly activities and live music throughout the night. The events are pet-friendly but furry friends must be leashed at all times.
“There’s a spot for everyone to have fun in our community,” said Kylie Savage-Coffey, recreation coordinator of the PCB Parks and Recreation Department, in a recent interview. “We encourage people to come out and have the opportunity to spend time with family and friends while enjoying the atmosphere of these concerts.”
In partnership with Panama City Beach Parks and Recreation, the event is sponsored by the St. Joe Company, Visit Panama City Beach, Buffalo Rock, Beach 95.1 Radio, Simon Property Group, By The Sea Resorts, SpringHill Suites by Marriott, USFA and Hook’d Pier Bar & Grill.
