The Pakistan Cricket Board (PCB) has reportedly denied the No-Objection Certificates (NOCs) to its players to participate in the Big Bash League (BBL), and International League T20 (ILT20). The non-contracted players are also not allowed to appear for the foreign leagues as per reports.
Pakistan’s first-class domestic cricket tournament, Quaid-e-Azam Trophy will end on January 3 and then the team will play West Indies and New Zealand in succession while the ILT20 by Emirates Cricket Board (ECB) is scheduled to take place between January 6 to February 12, 2023. BBL 2022-23 is set to kickstart on December 5 and the final of the league will be played on January 28.
The PCB has denied permission to its players citing national duties, according to a Daily Jang report. Pakistani players are being offered up to $400,000 dollars in the UAE-based franchise league.
After missing out on the cash-rich league IPL, Pakistani players are looking forward to participate in the ILT20 and BBL, which are another lucrative cricket franchise leagues and the denial by the board has left the players furious.
“There is a growing sense of frustration among the top players in Pakistan, who feel they are missing out on big monetary gains,” a report from ESPNcricinfo said.
Babar Azam, Shaheen Shah Afridi and Mohammad Rizwan are included in the draft for international players of the Big Bash League’s 12th edition, according to a report. But without PCB’s approval, Pakistan players can’t be signed for a draft.
