Stoptober is back and smokers in England can join the 2.5 million who have made a quit attempt with the campaign since it launched a decade ago in 2012.
Nearly 6 million adults in England still smoke, and it remains the single biggest cause of preventable death, totalling 64,000 deaths a year.
The best way to quit smoking is with support, which you can get 24/7 from Solihull Council’s newly commissioned service, the Quit with Bella app. Simply download from Google Play or the App Store and you can receive free help from your personal stop smoking Robo Coach! More information can be found at www.quitwithbella.com.
In addition, residents who live in the borough or are registered with a GP in Solihull can access the Solihull Lifestyle Service for face-face / telephone support and medication. Simply phone 0800 599 9880 and ask about the Solihull stop smoking service.
If you are a smoker, quitting is one of the best things you can do for your health, allowing you to start moving better, breathe more easily – and giving you more money to spend. Join the thousands of others and start your quitting journey this October. Just search ‘Stoptober’ for more information and free tools to help you quit.
