The Mooc “Studying in France: French Intermediate Course B1-B2” produced by the E-learning Department of the École Polytechnique ranks 77th among the 250 Most Popular Online Courses of All Time, established by the Moocs aggregation platform Class Central.

Produced by Isabelle Schaffner and Olivier Bertrand, both teaching French in the Languages and Cultures Department at the École polytechnique, and by Julie André, lecturer in the same Department, this Mooc is available on the Coursera platform for free and has already been attended by 383,143 students.

It is intended for all students wishing to pursue their higher education in France, helping them to reach the required level of French language skills to follow courses in the French higher education system. It also aims to help them adapt to their new environment in the best conditions.

This course offers an immersion in the student’s universe through videos of courses, texts in multiple formats, short film excerpts and authentic videos that give voice to French or foreign students living in France.

Although it does not replace the B1 or B2 level tests, it is a real springboard for thousands of international students who want to study in a French-speaking country.
