Fisher-Titus, BeStrong Learning Center offer free STNA classes – The Morning Journal

Fisher-Titus once again is partnering with BeStrong Learning Center in Norwalk to offer free classes for those interested in becoming a state tested nursing assistant (STNA), according to a news release.
Participants who complete the program will have a job as a state-tested nursing assistant waiting for them at Fisher-Titus, the release said.
State-tested nursing assistants work in various areas of patient care alongside nursing staff, physicians and other hospital personnel to provide care for patients, according to the release.
They perform clerical duties as well as patient-care activities including safely transporting patients, bathing and obtaining vital signs.
Classes will run from 7:30 a.m. to 3:30 p.m., Mondays, Tuesdays, Thursdays and Fridays, Jan. 10-21, at BeStrong Learning Center at 26 Whittlesey Ave. in Norwalk.
To apply for the program, visit FisherTitus.org/careers and apply for the “hospitality aide” position.
Applicants will go through an interview process prior to being selected for the program, according to the release.
If selected, classes will be free including tuition, fees, books, state testing, CPR and first aid, the release said.
Participants who complete the program will be employed at Fisher-Titus as a state-tested nursing assistant after receiving their certification, the release said.
