Research has shown that salsa dancing and dancing in general can be very addictive. The Nelson Mandela Community Youth Centre in Chatsworth is offering youth up to 25-years-old to learn the salsa, the fun, energetic and highly popular dance style.
Salsa is the most popular of all the Latin dances with many fast turns, exciting footwork and rhythmic hip movements to lively music.
Starting this Saturday and every Saturday, salsa dance classes for youth will take place at the Nelson Mandela Community Youth Centre in Chatsworth.
Classes are free from 2pm to 3pm and youngsters are guaranteed to have fun. Deon Williams, a popular local dance instructor, together with other dance volunteers, will provide lessons every Saturday. Williams explained how much fun you’ll have learning this dance style.

“Although there are basic dance steps to follow, at the end of the day, the salsa is all about having fun, a good time and connecting with new friends. So if you want to widen your social circle, salsa might just be for you. Swinging hips and a different mix of happy people dominate the extremely social and friendly atmosphere at the salsa classes,” said Williams.
Classes are free every Saturday from 2pm to 3pm at the youth centre, and you just need to wear comfortable shoes and clothing.
