REDWOOD CITY, CA — Bair Island Aquatic Center in Redwood City will host free rowing lessons on Sunday as part of National Learn To Row Day.
Participants will be able to learn the basics of rowing, including boat handling, terminology and fundamentals. The instruction will begin with some time on a rowing machine, followed by some action in a team rowing boat with a coach and experienced rowers.
Anyone over 13 is invited to participate. Registration is preferred. Those who register will have priorities over walk-ins.
Participants are asked to bring water, sunscreen, sunglasses and a hat. They should wear comfortable fitness clothing and shoes with socks.
The event takes place from 9 a.m. to 1 p.m. on Sunday.
Bair Island Aquatic Center is located at 1450 Maple Street.
