Google Career Certificates launched in India for courses on Automation, IT Support, Data Analytics – BGR India

This is the seventh Google for India event
Google India conducted the ‘Google For India‘ event today. This is the seventh edition of the event where  Google focuses on India-centric features and products. The company had earlier promised to invest $10 billion over the span of 10 years towards the ‘digitization fund’ for India. Google will be offering Career Certificates for popular courses on Project Management, IT Support, IT Automation, Data Analytics. The company will be aiming to reach 1 million people in next 2 years. In addition, they plan to offer 1 lakh scholarships for students. This is expected to build job opportunities. Also Read – Google introduces features to break language barriers for all Indian users
“The task is to make the digital economy more inclusive, and help individuals and job seekers to learn the skills needed to succeed.” Sanjay Gupta talks about the company’s goal of reaching over 1 million people in the next 2 years. Google has also launched a new employer consortium with prominent companies such as Tech Mahindra and Genpact to provide job seekers with employment after the completion of Google Career Certificate courses.
Google also launched a new end-to-end voice command feature to book slots for Covid-19 vaccination. The user will be guided through the booking process. In order to book the slot, the user will have to use their Aadhaar card number.
Google Search has also received more support for vernacular languages. Google Search will now provide search results in the input language. Google will use translation to provide this service. The feature is available in five Indian languages and Google plans to roll out the feature for other regional languages.
Another important feature that will be introduced on Google Search is focused on Indian students. It will provide the ability to solve free practice problems. These practice problems can be accessed via Google Search. Students will be able to find free problems on topics such as Maths, Chemistry and Physics. The problems will be sourced from online education platforms such as Byju’s, Toppr, GradeUp, Careers 360 and more.
Google will also be bettering the Google Classroom offline experience better with some new features. Using the new feature, Google Classroom will provide more offline features which will help users with poor data connection or limited internet.
The students will be able to download content when the Internet is available and later access the information even without a data connection. Teachers will be able to review performance from within the Classroom platform.
