IIT Madras is offering for free on the NPTEL platform a 4 week free online course on Python for Data Science
IIT Madras has invited applications from undergraduate students for a free online course called Python for Data Science on the SWAYAM NPTEL platform. The course aims at equipping participants to be able to use python programming for solving data science problems and carries one credit point. The course can be covered in a period of four weeks. Students who wish to take the course are required to have knowledge of basic data science algorithms.
The course will be conducted by IIT Madras professor Regunath Rangaswami who was earlier associated with Texas Tech University, Lubbock, USA as professor of Chemical Engineering and Co-Director of the Process Control and Optimization Consortium. He was also a professor and associate professor at Clarkson University, USA and an assistant professor at IIT Bombay. The course will be conducted from 24 January to 18 February 2022, and the last day to enrol for the course is 31 January 2022.

While the course is free to enrol and learn from, to obtain certificates for the course participants will have to pay a fee of Rs 1000 and take an examination on 27 March 2022. Certificate will have the students’ name, photograph and the score in the final exam with the breakup along with logos of NPTEL and IIT Madras.
