The prestigious Indian Statistical Institute (ISI) has collaborated with Coursera for the first time to offer a postgraduate diploma in applied statistics. The program cohort will begin in February and August of each year. Applications for the August 2022 cohort are opening soon, and classes will start on August 28, 2022. The programme duration is 12 months.
In this course, students will learn all the concepts as well as statistical tools needed to make data-based decisions and accelerate their careers in the areas of applied statistics and analytics. The program will focus on the use of real world data, including data from governments and international organisations that are available in the public domain.
The program will feature two levels – basic and advanced. Both the levels will teach six subjects, and the advanced level will feature two tracks – official statistics and data analytics.
The students will earn a certificate after successful completion of the basic level, and it will convert to a diploma after the completion of the advanced level. Each level has a duration of six months.
Each subject will be taught through pre-recorded instructor videos, reading material, and practice questions. They will be accompanied by weekly assessments, hands-on assignments, and project work.
The program fee is Rs 4,50,000 or $6,000 USD for students outside of India. After successful completion of the program, you will become a member of the ISI Alumni Association (ISIAA).
