ISRO is currently offering a free online course called Advanced Geospatial Technologies for Disaster Risk Reduction (DRR)
ISRO has invited applications from interested students and professionals for a 10-day free online course called Advanced Geospatial Technologies for Disaster Risk Reduction (DRR). The course aims at imparting knowledge on geospatial technologies, which have emerged as the most powerful technology for all phases of disaster management. The ISRO free online course is being sponsored by the Indian Institute of Remote Sensing, Indian Space Research Organisation, Department of Space, Government of India.
All the participants who attend 70% sessions of the course live via e-class portal will receive ISRO certificate for attending the course. As far as participants who attend course sessions via IIRS YouTube channel are concerned, they will be required to mark their attendance via offline session available after 24 hours. The course will be conducted from 18 to 29 April 2022.
Participants who wish to take the course will have to be familiar with the basics of remote sensing and geographical information system. Some of the topics that will be covered are as follows:
