BETHLEHEM PALETTE CLUB: Members’ Juried Exhibition of Bethlehem Palette Club members’ art work from Jan. 5 to Feb. 13, 2022. A closing reception will be held from 1 to 3 p.m. Feb. 13. The Bethlehem City Hall Rotunda Gallery, located at 10 E. Churc St.; is open to the public weekdays from 8:30 a.m. to 4 p.m.; closed weekends and holidays. 4-H SEEDLING SALE: The Northampton County 4-H program is once again sponsoring the annual seedling tree and fruit tree sale. The sale benefits the 4-H youth in the county and supports various programs throughout the year, including camps, fairs, trips, the annual achievement banquet and other club activities. NEW NIHM EXHIBIT: A new exhibit focusing on Bethlehem’s General Superintendent and Chief Engineer John Fritz is now on display at the National Museum of Industrial History. The Works of a Mechanical Genius: The Legacy of John Fritz explores the life and legacy of an innovative ironmaster who has been touted as founder of the American Steel Industry, alongside names like Andrew Carnegie. Fritz built and oversaw the operations at the Bethlehem Iron Company from 1860-1893. The Bethlehem Iron Works is described in engineering journals of the day as, “one of the most famous enterprises in the world – the Mecca of engineer-pilgrims from abroad and the pride and pattern of American practice.”
The exhibit marks the 200th anniversary of the birth of industrial pioneer and mechanical genius John Fritz. The display closes in October 2022. National Museum of Industrial History. 602 E.
