NinjaOne is a software developer founded in 2013 based in Austin, Texas with offices in Tampa, Berlin and Sydney. Its proprietary product is an information technology operations platform designed to make IT teams more efficient and users more productive.
How would you describe your company to someone outside of your industry? NinjaOne is a unified IT operations platform designed to make IT teams more efficient and users more productive. We do this by providing a fully integrated endpoint management experience that includes natively developed services for remote monitoring and management, cloud backup and disaster recovery, and ticketing for IT support operations. NinjaOne’s technology makes it possible for IT teams to manage users and devices from anywhere, whether that’s in an office or from a remote location — as long as the device can connect to the internet, NinjaOne can manage it.
The pandemic and move to remote forced companies to reevaluate their tool stack and seek out modern, intuitive tools that can support remote and in-office all through a unified experience. Aside from NinjaOne’s born-in-the-cloud beginnings, what really sets our business apart is an unyielding focus on user experience and customer support. Our customers are sophisticated technology users, but mastering a new product takes time and we’re proud to offer world-class support and the easiest platform to get started within the industry.

What is a common trait you find in ideal candidates? There are many traits we look for in candidates, but a few stand out: grit, natural curiosity and coachability. By grit, I mean the individual has perseverance and a natural ability to keep going, which is vital for not just seasoned professionals, but also early-career employees. No matter the department you work in, you’ll deal with adversity, and grit gives you the courage to move on to the next day or month with optimism and determination. Curiosity and coachability are also important traits, especially for new employees or employees in a remote-first company where self-motivation is critical.
What’s a common question you ask in the job interview process? One question we like to ask is what was something they recently taught themselves and what impact did that have. In this question, we’re looking to hear about how they identified an area that could help the business or team, and how they solved that — did they delegate the task to someone else or did they have the motivation to teach themselves something new? This applies to all positions. For a fast-growing company like NinjaOne where everyone is a product manager, we want to see that a candidate has the hands-on, practical skills and passion to execute a vision.
Which of the following are offered by your company?
Does your company offer any kind of tuition assistance to the employees or education benefits? NinjaOne offers employees a complimentary subscription to Udemy, an online learning platform to learn valuable business and personal skills. Since instituting the benefit, we’ve had hundreds of Ninjas sign up for courses through Udemy to further their professional development.
Are there any other perks offered or employee benefit(s) that stand out? One of the most incredible perks of NinjaOne is centered around the core concept of a flat organization where all employees are encouraged to make their voices heard and drive change. Our company leaders put servant leadership into practice and frequently check in with staff to get their thoughts, opinions and feedback on everything from which new features to build to go-to-market strategies for international expansion. This openness allows employees to make incredible strides in their careers, move up within the company and build a network of skilled professionals.
