PARENTS and carers who are looking to return to employment or reskill and start a new career in care are being encouraged to attend a new course in Banff.
The free course is set to take place at the Banff Springs Hotel on weekdays between Friday, February 18 and Friday, February 25.
The Introduction to Care course will allow potential new employees to gain all the important certification and industry qualifications required to join a care home team.
All days are worked around school hours – excluding two days of certified training which will run from 9am to 4.30pm.
On completion of the course, attendees are guaranteed an interview at a local care home.
Attendees will gain training in protection of vulnerable groups, infection control and medication awareness with three certificates being issued.
There will also be certification for client moving and handling and emergency first aid at work.
In addition, there will be help with interviewing skills and application techniques.
There will be support with travel to the course and any tools required to complete the course, as well as for childcare costs.
Post-course, there will be ongoing employment support for up to a year.
