OREGON — Serenity Hospice and Home is pleased to announce they will be starting an eight-week class titled, “Understanding Your Grief.”
This class will run each Wednesday evening from Nov. 10- to Dec. 29. The group will meet at Serenity Hospice and Home located at 1659 S. Illinois Route 2 in Oregon from 4:30-6 p.m. In an effort to protect participants, masks must be worn.
The structure of the group will follow the book by Dr. Alan D. Wolfelt which covers 10 touchstones in the areas of physical, emotional, cognitive, social and spiritual growth to help you through the grief process.
Wolfelt has written many books about healing after the loss of a loved one and is considered a leading grief educator. The class will be facilitated by Cathy Warren, who is Serenity Hospice’s bereavement coordinator.
“I am very excited to offer a class like this one,” Warren said. “Our grief groups are usually open-ended and people come and go as they travel through their own journey of grief. This is a more structured approach and the participant will know exactly when it will end.”
Each participant will receive a free copy of the book by Dr. Wolfelt. Please call Serenity Hospice to find out more information about this class at 815-732-2499 ask for Warren. Class sizes are limited so call as soon as possible.
