FACULTY POSITION IN SCHOOL OF MECHANICAL ENGINEERING
The School of Mechanical Engineering at Purdue University invites applications for a tenure-track faculty position at the Assistant or Associate Professor level. Purdue University seeks to attract exceptional candidates with interests and expertise in biomechanics with a focus on the intersection of mechanics and living systems. Successful candidates must hold a Ph.D. degree in mechanical engineering or a related discipline and demonstrate potential to build an independent research program, as well as potential to educate and mentor students.  The successful candidate will conduct original research, advise graduate students, teach undergraduate and graduate level courses, and perform service at the School, College, and University levels.
The School of Mechanical Engineering at Purdue University is ranked 8th nationally for both undergraduate programs and for graduate programs, and 1st for online mechanical engineering graduate program by U.S. News and World Report. The School is one of the largest at Purdue University, and in the nation, with nearly 1800 undergraduates, 1000 graduate students, 94 tenure track faculty members, and 70 staff members. The School is home to several large-scale research labs and has a long tradition of collaboration with industry, national laboratories, and other universities. Mechanical Engineering faculty members carry out research across several interdisciplinary research facilities on campus, including, but not limited to, the Bindley Bioscience Center and the Purdue Cancer Center.  Collaboration opportunities exist with the School of Biomedical Engineering, the College of Veterinary Medicine, the Purdue Plant Science Institute, and Indiana University School of Medicine as well as the Clinical and Translational Science Institute.
