Udemy offers over 30,000 course, in over 80 languages, so as you can imagine the range is incredibly wide. No matter what area of specialism you’re looking for, you’re sure to find something that suits amongst their vast library of courses.
Signing up for a course at Udemy is simple. First browse their website until you find the course that you wish to study. On the course page you can read plenty of information about your course including the syllabus, what to be expected and the estimated duration. The screen should look something like this:
Udemy - Online Courses Provider
If you’re happy with all of this, and you like the price, then simply click the blue button on the right hand side that reads ‘Take this course’. You’ll then be asked to fill in some personal information and arrange your payment method.
Udemy courses range in price quite significantly, depending on their length and level of detail. According to their website, the average price paid for a course is $75. Remember though, these courses do not provide official certification or credits that can be used elsewhere, and though they can be put on your resume, they may have the payoffs that officially registered and accredited courses do.
Udemy does not offer official courses like degrees or certificates. Their courses are short and designed for personal improvement, not for official accreditation. So if you’re looking for a certificate and a graduation you may have to look elsewhere. If, however, you’re seeking to expand your skillset, then you are sure to find a course in your field.
Sadly, no. Because Udemy do not provide governmentally accredited courses, there is no official funding available for their courses. That shouldn’t be a problem though, since their courses are fairly inexpensive. If you’re currently in a job and you’re looking at a course for work, perhaps you could talk to your employer about them helping you to cover the costs.
Again, the nature of Udemy courses does not permit credit transfer. Udemy does not provide officially accredited courses, so the credit system is not applicable. You should think of these courses more for the expansion of your own skills and a broadening of your horizons.

Products marked as ‘Promoted’ or ‘Advertisement’ are prominently displayed either as a result of a commercial advertising arrangement or to highlight a particular product, provider or feature. Finder may receive remuneration from the Provider if you click on the related link, purchase or enquire about the product. Finder’s decision to show a ‘promoted’ product is neither a recommendation that the product is appropriate for you nor an indication that the product is the best in its category. We encourage you to use the tools and information we provide to compare your options.
Where our site links to particular products or displays ‘Go to site’ buttons, we may receive a commission, referral fee or payment when you click on those buttons or apply for a product. You can learn more about how we make money here.
When products are grouped in a table or list, the order in which they are initially sorted may be influenced by a range of factors including price, fees and discounts; commercial partnerships; product features; and brand popularity. We provide tools so you can sort and filter these lists to highlight features that matter to you.
We try to take an open and transparent approach and provide a broad-based comparison service. However, you should be aware that while we are an independently owned service, our comparison service does not include all providers or all products available in the market.
Some product issuers may provide products or offer services through multiple brands, associated companies or different labelling arrangements. This can make it difficult for consumers to compare alternatives or identify the companies behind the products. However, we aim to provide information to enable consumers to understand these issues.
Providing or obtaining an estimated insurance quote through us does not guarantee you can get the insurance. Acceptance by insurance companies is based on things like occupation, health and lifestyle. By providing you with the ability to apply for a credit card or loan, we are not guaranteeing that your application will be approved. Your application for credit products is subject to the Provider’s terms and conditions as well as their application and lending criteria.
