* Daniel Andrews – Mount Helen (in the new electorate of Eureka, notionally Labor on a 9.6 per cent margin based on 2018 results)
* Matthew Guy – Cheltenham, (in the electorate of Bentleigh, held by Labor on a 11.9 per cent margin in 2018)
WHAT THEY PROMISED
Labor:
* Free TAFE courses for all Victorians
* Invest $170 million to build new TAFE campuses and improve existing ones across the state
Coalition:
* Scrap electricity supply charges to cut household electricity bills by up to $235 in the first six months of 2023
* Quarantine any new gas for Victorian use
Greens:
* End all new coal and gas projects, including gas drilling next to the Twelve Apostles
* Fix housing affordability crisis with rent caps and by building hundreds of thousands more public homes
WHAT THEY SAID
* “Giving everybody the opportunity and the options in their life, a pathway, a possibility, that’s what we need and that’s what our economy demands right now,” – Premier Daniel Andrews on expanding free TAFE eligibility.
* “A $230 saving for each and every Victorian household, particularly families, who are doing it so tough at the moment is a sensible and realistic and affordable initiative to help every Victorian family,” – Opposition Leader Matthew Guy on Bill Buster initiative.
* “We have very strong plans for how we can improve integrity of our parliaments. We will on day one of the next parliament introduce our Strengthening Integrity Bill,” – Victorian Greens Leader Samantha Ratnam.
