Yolo County job seekers now have the opportunity for free access to five Grow with Google programs to obtain Google Career Certificates.
Google Career Certificates provide individuals with access to in-demand jobs in the fields of data analytics, IT support, project management or user experience design through rapid reskilling without a college degree or prior experience in the field, according to a press release from the county.
Yolo County Health, YoloWorks! and the Yolo County Workforce Innovation Board partnered with Coursera to provide free online learning resources to Yolo County residents.
Those interested may fill out the Coursera-Grow with Google request form which can be found at yoloworks.org. After receiving the invitation email to join the “YoloWorks! Grow with Google Professional Certificates,” which should arrive within 1-3 business days after submitting the request form, users can join the program by creating or signing in to an existing personal Coursera account. Individuals must be logged into this “program” while enrolling to access courses and earn certificates for free.
Courses, which are available in both English and Spanish, are hands-on and practical and can be completed in three to six months part-time. These certificates were developed and taught by Google employees with decades of experience in the fields, the press release said.
Those that earn any of these professional certificates will also then have the option of joining the Coursera-Google job platform to explore careers across employers who are hiring for remote and in-person positions from the pools of learners that have completed one or more of these certificates.
