The state has a new Health Commissioner.
Former New York City Health Commissioner Mary Bassett takes over for Howard Zucker, who came under fire for the under reporting of nursing home deaths during the Cuomo administration. She is currently a Professor and Director of the Health and Human Services Center at Harvard University.
Governor Hochul plans to introduce Bassett at a news conference today (Thursday.)
