Highlight, Burlington’s New Year’s Eve celebration, will be both virtual and in-person this year as the pandemic continues but vaccinations make it possible for healthy people to gather.
Events will happen all day on Dec. 31. In-person attendees looking for entertainment and activities can go to an interactive jazz show in the afternoon, bring children to a kid-friendly festival at Waterfront Park, go to the circus, see a Burlington-made film, take in some storytelling with The Moth, listen to an Indie band with Latin flavor or watch a Prince tribute band to ring in the New Year.
Virtual attendees can watch a musical comedy duo or the circus. Organizers will announce more events and details as New Year’s Eve draws nearer.
Those looking for a tropical escape can pay $215 to attend the Adventure Dinner which will feature a four-course tropical meal with a cocktail paired with each course. The space at the Burlington City Arts Pine Street location will be transformed into an indoor beach and there will be an afterparty complete with a DJ and cocktail bar.
From 2020:New Year’s Eve is a bit different this year. There’s still fun to be had at these events.

Tickets to attend virtual programming will be $10; tickets for access to all events, virtual and in-person, will be $15. Visit Highlight’s website for more information on performers, schedules and updates.
