There has been a widespread speculation about Team India boycotting the 2023 edition of the Asia Cup followed by the ICC Champions Trophy 2025.
Recently, the International Cricket Council unveiled the Future Tours Program (FTP) for 2023-2027 cycle. As per the next cycle, the hosts rights for 2023 Asia Cup and ICC Champions Trophy 2025 have been given to Pakistan.
We all know that the political tensions between India and Pakistan have increased over the years. As a result, there are more possibilities of India boycotting both the events.
“The PCB has scheduled around 238 days of international cricket during the 4-year period,” the Pakistan Cricket Board said in an official statement.
“These (international games) include matches in the ACC 50-over Asia Cup and the ICC Champions Trophy, that Pakistan will stage in 2023 and 2025, respectively. The Future Tours Programme (FTP) is prepared collectively by the ICC Member Boards,” the PCB added.
