Unique opportunity to join the Miami Tech Movement now and enter region’s most exciting and rewarding field!
Miami, August 15, 2022 – Miami Dade College’s (MDC) School of Engineering and Technology (EnTec) has created the Javier Coto Scholarship in honor of late MDC professor Javier Coto. Funded by Miami-Dade County, the scholarship is available to students who enroll in tech courses in the fall, including artificial intelligence, cloud computing, cybersecurity, data analytics, internet of things, app development and more.
The scholarship is named after Coto, an EnTec professor who passed away earlier this month. He was a dedicated husband and father, and a life-long learner with a deep commitment to helping his students.
Eligible students must be residents of Miami-Dade County, have applied for financial aid and are enrolled in select tech courses. Recipients will receive tuition reimbursement.
EnTec offers cutting edge programs that meet the high demands of the fast-paced technology marketplace. It’s a component of MDC Tech, a gateway to connect students, community members and employers with tech offerings at MDC. Through MDC Tech, current and prospective students will have access to all MDC tech courses, programs and professional development opportunities, as well as scholarships. Tech companies and other Miami employers seeking local tech talent will also find a direct platform to reach MDC students with the most sought-after tech skills.
