Journalist Simon Phillips has told GiveMeSport that Chelsea midfielders Jorginho and N’golo Kante are currently on course to leave on free transfers.
The pair both have deals that are set to expire at the end of the season.
They are obviously important members of the Chelsea midfield, with them both likely featuring in a strongest squad at Stamford Bridge.
This has certainly not been an option this season. Kante has been missing since the second game of the season after suffering an injury.
Reports have claimed that Todd Boehly is reluctant to meet the terms the Frenchman is requesting, taking into account his recent record of missing games.
Jorginho on the other hand is also yet to commit his future to Stamford Bridge, with rumours speculating he is considering joining another side.
Phillips has claimed that while meetings are planned after the World Cup, both players are still some way off remaining at the club.
He said: “Talks haven’t progressed with either of them. They are expected to speak again after the World Cup, but they’ve been miles apart with terms for both players.
“So unless one of them meets in the middle, then I can only see them both leaving as free agents. So that’s two players there that Chelsea could need to replace straight away.”
Replacing Jorginho and Kante would require spending big money in order to fill the voids their talents would inevitably leave.
They have been frequently linked to the signing of Jude Bellingham, however will no doubt be up against all of the World’s best sides in an attempt to strike a deal for the teenager.
His England teammate, Declan Rice, is another name closely linked to Stamford Bridge, as he prepares for his big move away from West Ham United.
