Networking is an effective way to build meaningful relationships that support businesses in the long term.
Bridget Manley and Daniel Patterson will help small businesses learn tips for expanding their professional networks both in person and online during a Wyoming Small Business Development Center (SBDC) Network webinar titled “Networking 101 for Small-Business Owners” Tuesday, Oct. 18, from 11 a.m.-noon. Small-business owners also will learn strategies for connecting with potential clients, customers, peers and mentors. Participants are asked to come prepared to ask questions and share their own networking tips in this conversational webinar. To register, go here. Registration is free.
Manley, vice president and chief learning officer of Ascendant Design and Training in Laramie, is an eLearning specialist with a passion for helping learners become effective agents in their careers and in their communities. She co-founded the company with Patterson, her husband, in July 2020.
Before that, she was the curriculum manager for a Denver-based startup company, where she developed compliance and manufacturing training for the state-legal cannabis industry. Manley draws from a range of learning theories and instructional design models to create courses that are precision-built to solve real-world problems. She uses research-based methodologies and a thoughtful application of technology to develop lessons that engage and enlighten learners.
Patterson is a software systems developer for Ascendant Design and Training. His role is to create new technical tools, techniques and procedures that can lead to new inroads for the educational technical industry to the benefit of instructional designers, educators and their students.
He has more than 30 years of multidisciplinary experience in software, electronic and mechanical design. He has been involved in several different industries, including logistics, gaming, music and heavy equipment. In those industries, Patterson has managed projects large and small; has overseen research, development, engineering and IT departments; and has managed the implementation and upkeep of automated production systems.
