Eternals have almost arrived. Marvel’s next blockbuster is heading to cinemas very soon, and we have the lowdown on everything you need to know about the MCU adventure that promises to change everything.
Marvel Studios’ Eternals features an exciting new team of Super Heroes in the Marvel Cinematic Universe, ancient aliens who have been living on Earth in secret for thousands of years. Following the events of Avengers: Endgame, an unexpected tragedy forces them out of the shadows to reunite against mankind’s most ancient enemy, the Deviants.
Eternals, the next Marvel Cinematic Universe superhero film, is set to hit cinemas in the US and around the world this week. The film is based on Marvel’s superhero comic book series of the same name, and is the 26th film in the Marvel Cinematic Universe as a part of its Phase Four. The movie is directed by Academy Award-winning director Chloé Zhao and has an ensemble cast including Gemma Chan, Angelina Jolie, Richard Madden, and Kit Harington. The filming of the movie took place in Pinewood Studios in England as well as on location in London and Oxford in England and in the Canary Islands.
The Eternals was originally slated for release on November 6, 2020, but similar to the other movies from the past year, its premiere has been moved due to the COVID-19 pandemic with Marvel’s shift of its MCU Phase 4 release dates. Now, it is scheduled for an exclusive theatrical release in November 2021, but it will still make its way to the Disney+ streaming platform at a later date. The question, then, is when will this happen?
Eternals was first due to arrive in cinemas in November 2020 slot and was initially pushed back to February 2021, taking Shang-Chi’s original release slot. However, as the pandemic continued and Black Widow, Eternals found itself at its current November slot.
The movie will be released on November 3 in countries including Germany, France, South Korea, and Indonesia among others. Eternals will hit the theatres on November 4 in countries including UAE, Singapore, and Thailand. The USA, UK, and Japan are some of the other countries other than India that will see Eternals’ release on November 5.

The main cast includes Gemma Chan, Richard Madden, Angelina Jolie, Salma Hayek, Kit Harington, Don Lee, Lia McHugh, Kumail Nanjiani, Harish Patel, Brian Tyree Henry, Lauren Ridloff, and Barry Keoghan.
Chan essays the role of Sersi, an empathetic Eternal who has a strong connection with the Earth and to humans. She can manipulate inanimate matters and pretends to be a museum curator on Earth while dating Dane Whitman, played by Kit Harington. In an interview with Variety, Eternals producer Kevin Feige said about casting Chan, “…and if there was a lead in this ensemble, it is Sersi, it is Gemma Chan — we looked at and read all sorts of women for that part. And ended up really believing that Gemma was best for it. And thankfully, she’s proven that to be the case in the final movie.”
Madden plays Ikaris, a powerful Eternal who can fly. He also has the power to project energy beams from his eyes. His other strengths include super-strength and teleportation. Together with Ikaris is Sersi, whose relationship Madden describes as “a through-the-ages love story.”
Angelina Jolie portrays Thena, another Eternal who can form any weapon out of cosmic energy.
The Eternals primary cast also includes Hayek as Ajak, the spiritual leader of Eternals, Lee as Gilgamesh, the strongest Eternal who harbours a deep connection to Thena, and McHugh as Sprite, an Eternal who has the appearance of a 12-year-old child and projects life-like illusions.
The official synopsis for The Eternals reads: “Marvel Studios’ The Eternals features an exciting new team of superheroes in the Marvel Cinematic Universe, ancient aliens who have been living on Earth in secret for thousands of years. Following the events of Avengers: Endgame, an unexpected tragedy forces them out of the shadows to reunite against mankind’s most ancient enemy, The Deviants.”
Wondering who on Earth The Deviants are? No problem: The Deviants, like The Eternals, were created by the Celestials and are, at their core, a dark version of our heroic Eternals.
The two groups have come into conflict time and time again within the pages of Marvel Comics, and it seems they’ll be bringing their disputes to Earth for Phase 4. For more details on who they are and their abilities, we have your back; check out The Deviants explained.
Right now, the only way to watch Eternals is to go see it in person at a movie theater when it opens. Eternals will open in theaters nationwide on Friday, November 5. Fans can watch the new Marvel’s movie when it is released this year. Where can they catch the movie? Where can you watch No Time to Die if Netflix, Amazon Prime, or HBO Max are not available?
Nope. Eternals, a star-packed Marvel movie scheduled as the next in the superhero franchise to be released, will hit theaters exclusively on Friday. It doesn’t have a confirmed streaming release date yet. But here’s what we know, and some educated guesses about what to expect:
Disney is planning for Eternals to be in theaters exclusively for at least 45 days after it first comes out Friday.
Disney Plus will be the only service that will (eventually) stream Eternals when it does become available for streaming, but we have no real guidance for when Eternals will stream on Disney Plus. It may come to Disney Plus immediately after the 45-day theatrical window, or it may take longer while Eternals is released as an online rental and in other formats.
It’s unlikely (but possible) Eternals will be available to stream earlier than Shang-Chi was, which was after about 70 days in theaters.
Eternals is finally here! A movie that’s been years in the making, and fans have been waiting for this moment.

You should check it out if you haven’t seen it yet, but be sure not to catch this in theaters because then there will only ever be one version of the film for us all to enjoy (unless they decide on another release). Well at least we have YouTube right? Or maybe Netflix has something interesting coming up soon.
If you want to watch Eternals, the good news is that you can go down to your local cinema and book a ticket now. That’s right, the action movie will arrive in US and UK cinemas on November 5, 2021- meaning our long wait is finally coming to an end. This new release date comes after a year of delays and rescheduling thanks to Covid-19.
Initially, Eternals was set for a November 6, 2020 release date. The movie was then shifted to open on February 12, 2021 before finally landing on the current release date November 5. All the muddled dates have been confusing, to say the least, and at one point it seemed like Eternals would forever be in post-production limbo.
Luckily the current release date isn’t going to change any time soon. Since reviews for Eternals are already out, and the studio has to stick to its Marvel Phase 4 schedule (which has already had one reshuffle), come hell or high water Eternals will come out on November 5 in cinemas as planned.
Angelina Jolie returns to the big screen in a MARVEL film you won’t want to miss. You can watch No Time to Die now on Amazon Prime Video, iTunes or Vudu! And when that’s over with?
The new Marvel’s movie is coming to Netflix, Amazon Prime and HBO Max but not cinemas. Will you be able to catch this Eternals movie in your area? Check here for the streaming sites that will have it available when they release their listings!
No. Eternals is not on Netflix. While Netflix has signed some deals to stream some Sony films, it’s unclear if Eternals will be included in that. Therefore, it’s unlikely that new Marvel’s movies will be streaming on Netflix anytime soon.
Disney had tested out the idea of a Marvel film coming out both in theaters and on Disney+ with Black Widow, offering subscribers to watch the film at home at an extra cost, as part of its Premium Access package.
The film then had a disappointing return in the box office, and even led lead star Scarlett Johansson to sue the company over breaching her contract, and she claimed the company had guaranteed the film would only be released in theaters.
Marvel’s next big-screen adventure should be heading to Disney Plus around 45 days after playing in cinemas. That means Eternals will likely be on Disney Plus around December 19 – that’s 45 days after November 5.
However, Shang-Chi arrives on Disney Plus on November 12, which marks a longer period than the presumed 45-day after playing in cinemas. The Disney Plus release of Shang-Chi is now linked to the upcoming Disney Plus Day, instead of the movie being released on just any random other day.
For $6 a month (with ads), Hulu is a perfect complement and counterpoint to Netflix. This channel lineup has a huge variety of familiar shows from networks like ABC, Fox and NBC that you can watch soon after they air (unlike on Netflix), as well as a growing catalog of its own critically acclaimed original series like The Handmaid’s Tale and PEN15. If you have $6 per month to spare and don’t mind trading a few ads for a wealth of TV options, Hulu is a no-brainer. You’ve also got the option to upgrade to a no-ads plan for $12 a month, or add on live TV streaming for $65 a month for a full cable replacement.
No. Eternals’ a Marvel’s movie, not a Warner Bros. movie, and therefore will not be streaming on HBO Max when it opens in theaters.
While HBO Max—which is owned by Warner Media—has been the streaming home for blockbuster Warner Bros. movies like Dune, it will not be the streaming home for Universal movies like Last Night in Soho. While the movie may be on HBO Max someday, it won’t be any time soon.
HBO Max is a streaming subscription service that offers a wide variety of TV shows and movies on-demand.
The service offers up to five viewer profiles, with tons of curated selections for adults and kids, the option to download content and the ability to stream on many devices.
Eternals will not be on a streaming service at the same time that Eternals is playing in theaters. Sorry! But if you want to watch it after it’s out, check out this page for all of your options for how to stream Eternals online. Then come back and let us know what you think about the movie!
