Apple have been the market leader in the United States for nearly a decade now. Like when iPhone 5 was released which was available for all four major carriers at launch, it has stayed #1. They're #1 as OEM in the US and have been #1 in mobile profits for even longer.
Good for Apple. Americans get iPhones the cheapest because so many buy them and sell them for cheap on OfferUp. So many trade-in deals and other promotional discounts. I still despise iOS but that's another story.

Plus it's not wise to compare apple who only sells flagship devices with android OEMs that 95% of their sells are from under 500$ devices

Then Android shot itself in the foot, Qualcomm went to SM Foundry for 888 which is inferior in node density to TSMC for 5nm, Botched Kirins.
Maybe Kirin could have made something similar to M1s knowing that Kirin 9000 still hold well to this day and still leads FP16 benchmark , over SD888, Exynos2100 and Tensor .

Apple phones have the fastest silicon and some of the best cameras, but neither of those account for their popularity. The blue and green bubbles are everything to a group of people obsessed with status.
